Charlotte Raup for Wilkes - Barre City Council

District E

Most qualified for the job.

Caring, Concerned, Accessible, Experienced and Knowledgeable.

Working diligently as a volunteer for 10 years with the police, city officials, magistrates and the District Attorneys Office to improve the city, prevent crime and eliminate illegal drugs.

My Mission, My Passion

As your City Council member, I will bring experience and fresh ideas to the table. In the last ten years I have been involved with many facets of city government. I have seen first hand how the city works and what problems need to be corrected. My work on the Wilkes-Barre City Charter Review Commission has educated me about the legislative duties, responsibilities and the limitations of City Council.

For the last decade, I have been involved with nightly Crime Watch patrols around our city. My Crime Watch members and I are out on the streets from midnight until 3 or 4 a.m. several nights a week watching for suspicious activity that is then reported to the police. These patrols have been very effective and informative.

My training and work with the fourteen Crime Watch groups in the city has made me fully aware of how illegal drugs and absentee landlords are destroying our neighborhoods. These are issues that have to be aggressively addressed by City Council.

My love for Wilkes- Barre and concern for its residents speaks for itself.

I have volunteered hundreds of hours with various civic groups to improve the quality of life in our city. As your City Council member, I will continue to dedicate my efforts towards safe, clean neighborhoods just as I have been doing for the last 10 years.

My major issues are crime prevention, eliminating illegal drugs, absentee landlords, beautification of the city and recreation for our youth.

Song that inspired me to do this…..

"Walk Tall"

So be careful in what you believe in
There's plenty to get you confused
And in this land called paradise
You must walk in many men's shoes
Bigotry and hatred are enemies to us all
Grace, mercy and forgiveness
Will help a man walk tall

JOHN MELLENCAMP

If you would like to meet me, I’m always in your neighborhood watching suspected drug houses long after dark.
