Crime Watch president recognized for service

Charlotte Raup, president of the Wilkes-Barre Crime Watch Coalition, was recently presented the 2006 Governor’s Citizen Crime Prevention Volunteer Recognition Award. The award is sponsored by the Pennsylvania Coalition on Crime and Delinquency and is presented annually to those who organize crime prevention initiatives in their communities.

Charlotte was twice recognized by the City of Wilkes-Barre for her tireless efforts with the Wilkes-Barre Crime Watch.

19 complete emergency training

Nineteen Wilkes-Barre Crime Watch members recently completed Community Emergency Response Team training at Luzerne County Community College.

The training includes preparedness, medical and response skills for potential disasters, fire safety and team organization.
